Capital Flows Map
This map shows announcements of funding into AI-driven initiatives across five emerging-market regions, since January 2023. As of August 2026, $41 billion of committed AI capital is traceable to 159 specific transactions, against $74 billion announced through national plans, corporate country programs and funds. Just over a third of what is announced can be traced to a deal. Compute infrastructure carries 94 percent of traced capital while data foundations hold under 1 percent, and philanthropic capital flows almost entirely to Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, where commercial capital is thinnest.
